Shaw's Supermarkets

Since 1994, cm&b has performed more than 300 assignments, including more than 35 major construction projects, totaling approximately 3 million SF of construction for Shaw's Supermarkets.

• Performed pre-construction program management and general construction services for the ground-up construction of 20 new Shaw's Supermarket stores in the New England area.
• Seventeen occupied store renovations/additions including design/build and value engineering services provided to achieve Shaw's budget objectives. Various project challenges included phasing work and performing off hours as well as 24 hour shifts to minimize disruption to store operations and accommodate an accelerated schedule, design/build services and complete systems replacement for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and a complete interior re-construction built on a fast-track schedule.
• Converted 7 acquired Star Market stores and 5 Edwards Food Warehouses to conform to the Shaw's re-badge program.
• Awarded the Shaw's corporate vestibule rollout program for store upgrades in over 125 locations throughout New England.
• Coordinated efforts with Shaw's and LEED-accredited architect Steven Hughes of RGB to build the first supermarket in New England to achieve official Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
